I've seen a couple of editor extended plugin buttons where the right side of the button wasn't handled correctly by the Joomla! admin css and ran into it myself today.

Looking at the css I noticed a class called "blank" for the buttons so I tested and got it to work with this:

$button->set('name', 'buttonname');

$button->set('name', 'buttonname blank');

The extra "blank" after the space will give your button a nicely rounded right side.

Today we have finally launched the new Alvaana site. We've created about 4 different sites before launching now but each time we ended up with not enough time to finish.

With this set-up we've chosen to keep it simple and very manageable at first until we find the time or need to add extra pages. The site is a two page site, one Dutch and one English page with keywords and short paragraphs of text to explain what we do.

The contact form is given a prominent place and it only has the bare minimum amount of fields needed to get in touch.

The site is xhtml strict valid and we payed much attention to accessibility like headings that render in the correct order. The site works fine with css, images or javascript turned off.

We think it looks great and does what it needs to do.

Past Saturday the first live television show for the Million Dollar Wedding my niece is competing for has happened and they are going to the next round.

From the 4000 people that tried to get passed the intakes only 7 are still in the race and from that 7 at least one site is a Joomla! site. You can visit the site at sander and jessica

The site has generated over 5000 unique visitors in just a few weeks so we may have triggered some new people that never used Joomla! before.

I just found out about an interesting new initiative, 14 September 2008 The World Wide Web Foundation was launched by Tim Berners-Lee himself. Tim is the British computer scientist, who is credited with inventing the World Wide Web. You can read more about him on his wikipedia page.

The World Wide Web Foundation seeks to advance One Web that is free and open, to expand the Web's capability and robustness, and to extend the Web's benefits to all people on the planet. The Web Foundation brings together business leaders, technology innovators, academia, government, NGOs, and experts in many fields to tackle challenges that, like the Web, are global in scale.

Let's see what this initiative can do for all the web-users and still not web-users today and in the future.
